Cardiac Risk Assessment

Evaluating your heart’s function and risk for heart disease.

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is one of the leading causes of death in adults. You can have advanced obstructive CHD with little to no symptoms which can progress into a more serious issue very quickly.

At NJ Primary Care, we offer on-site minimally and noninvasive vascular testing and Cardiac Risk Assessments which can help diagnose different cardiovascular problems right in our office.

Dr. Gahdvi can also determine what your risk is of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) through a routine exam. To make an appointment for a Cardiac Risk Assessment and EKG, contact us today.

What is a Cardiac Risk Assessment?

A Cardiac Risk Assessment screens for your risk of CVD or HD. During your assessment, you’ll be asked a series of questions. Some of these questions will cover topics, such as:

  • Age

  • Lifestyle habits

  • Family history

  • Activity level

  • Smoking history

Even if you’re in optimal health now, your assessment will show if you have to take steps to reduce or prevent your likelihood of developing heart disease in the future. It looks at how likely it is that you’ll develop CVD or HD in the next 10 years.

Most adults over the age of 40 can benefit from a Cardiac Risk Assessment. It’s beneficial for those with certain risk factors or a history of heart disease.

What is an EKG?

A non invasive test to assess your heart’s rhythm and function.

An EKG or ECG is an Electrocardiogram. It looks for signs that you have heart disease by recording your heart’s electrical activity through patches that get placed on the skin of your legs, arms, and chest.

It’s a safe, painless, and quick procedure.

Benefits of EKG Testing:

With an EKG, we can evaluate the following:

  • Evaluate the rhythm of your heart
  • Look for cardiac abnormalities
  • Check blood flow to your heart
  • See if you have major electrolyte abnormalities

At NJ Primary Care, we’re committed to providing our patients with exceptional care. We’ll educate you on all aspects of your heart health, ensuring you make the right choices for your future.
